Lee Pleased To Get First Start
Charlie Lee made his first start for Peterborough United since his close-season move from Tottenham Hotspur and the versatile performer put in an encouraging display at the heart of the defence.
Lee, who can also operate as a central midfield player, looked composed on the ball and strong in the tackle as Darren Ferguson's men entertained Scottish Premier League and Scottish Cup winners Celtic at London Road.
Lee also posed a threat in the attacking third, proving a decent target at set-pieces, especially with fellow new boy Dean Keates' excellent delivery into the box. Lee, speaking exclusively to theposh.com, said: 'It is really good to get my first bit of action under my belt in a Peterborough shirt.
'It was an enjoyable game and I was pleased with the team's performance. You always have a few nerves in pre-season, especially as a new player, so to play 45 minutes was important and I felt fit.
'I feel I have settled into the club well, the lads have made me feel welcome and I can't wait for the rest of the pre-season fixtures. I played at the back tonight, but I really don't mind where I play, that is up to the manager. I just want to play football,' Lee said.
