2007/2008 Season Review - August

Posh made a strong start to the new campaign by comfortably beating Rochdale at London Road. Boss Darren Ferguson opted for Shwan Jalal in goal instead of loyal servant Mark Tyler, which was a surprise to many supporters. It took less than 10 minutes for Posh to open the account with Josh Low firing the opener and it was two just before half time when Aaron Mclean scored his first goal of the season with a toe poke after good work from Craig Morgan. In the second half Posh went searching for a third and hit the woodwork twice inside 60 seconds. The game was made safe when substitute Danny Crow popped up at the back post to score the third. Crow was later taken off the transfer list after impressing gaffer Darren Ferguson.

The Carling Cup second round paired Posh with another Championship side in West Brom. Posh tried to get back in the game during the second half but West Brom didn't look troubled and although it was a third straight defeat for Fergie's men it was a more improved performance against a team going for promotion to the Premiership.
