Official Club Statement
Following a series of meetings between Opportunity Peterborough, Peterborough City Council and Peterborough United Football Club, the future potential location of the Football Club has been formally included in the new City Centre Area Action Plan - 'Issues and Options' document now out for consultation.
The Football Club had independently commissioned and submitted via its consultants an 'Alternative & Current Site Assessment' document profiling a number of potential Community Stadium Complex destinations in the city and the findings of this work have been made available for consideration by City Council, Opportunity Peterborough and appointed consultants EDAW in preparing options for future City Centre Growth & Development.
The City Councils 'CCAAP - Issues & Options' paper identifies the North Embankment as one of its three options for the Football Club and Peterborough United can confirm they could work with this option as it has the potential to support sustainability, social, sport & educational inclusion and is close in proximity to our existing home.
All options will be discussed over the next two weeks with this being the first step in a period of debate, consideration and consultation across the city and we would wish to thank the City Council and Opportunity Peterborough for their support, understanding and initiative in these exciting times for the City of Peterborough, its people and the Football Club.
