New Home Hinted At By Darragh
Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony hinted at a new home in a statement released on his official takeover.
'So what else is going on as we enter this new era? A state-of-the-art training ground is becoming closer to reality, thanks to the hard work of Bob Symns. He has also spent lots of time talking to the council and planning department about a long-term home for the football club.'
Peterborough City Council leader John Peach said that possible sites had been earmarked: 'We're working with them and with Opportunity Peterborough about a possible new ground and sites for the new stadium. We will do whatever we can to help the club and the city.'
Cllr Peach added: 'It seems good news for the club and for the city. It's better that it's now all under his ownership and no doubt Barry Fry will be pleased as well that whatever negotiations go on in the future, it can be done by Darragh MacAnthony himself.
'We're all for Peterborough and congratulate them on their recent success last season and wish them all the best for the future.'
