Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson admits he is on the lookout for a new defender after the 3-1 Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat at MK Dons.

Aaron Mclean put Posh ahead but a Mark Wright brace and Colin Cameron goal sealed the win for the Dons before defender Kieran Charnock limped off with a hamstring injury.

Ferguson said: "I'm really disappointed because I don't think we should have lost.

"And then we've got the double blow of losing Charnock, who felt his hamstring go.

"It's a bad one - I didn't want to play him but with Craig Morgan going to Wales I had to.

"Now we've only got one fit centre-back so I need to bring someone in, or maybe look at the possibility of bringing Guy Branston back from loan."
